Implementation Frameworks, Theory of Development, and Adaptation for NCDs
A two-and-a-half-day workshop, delivered in hybrid mode, equipping participants with foundational knowledge and practical skills to apply, develop, adapt, and evaluate implementation science theories, models, and frameworks for NCD interventions in low-resource settings.
About this training
Part of the Implementation Science for Non-Communicable Diseases (IS4NCDs) project — a three-year initiative funded by the European Union to strengthen implementation science capacity for improving NCD prevention and care within health systems across sub-Saharan Africa.
The workshop covers implementation science theories, models and frameworks, mechanisms of change, theory-driven implementation design, development of contextually grounded frameworks, structured adaptation of frameworks for local settings, and the evaluation and application of adapted frameworks in real-world NCD programmes.
Delivery: interactive lectures, facilitated discussions, case studies, practical exercises, and group work. Participants will receive all workshop materials in soft-copy format.
These dates mark the main teaching activities; pre-reading and continued learning assignments may extend the course beyond these dates.
